Germans don't understand white bread

Groceries in Germany can be amusing to say the least.  However, I found this gem in my German BFFs' apartment.

I had to explain to them why American Sandwich was not an appropriate label for this product.

EDIT:  I have been informed that this bread is simply too stressful for him, as it is too large.  Apparently it is too difficult to put spreads on it (he runs out of Lust, as the Germans might say) and possibly he finds that it is too large for his hands.  #GermanProblems
